Autumn 2009 Newsletter

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Hello again to all our members!

I have attached for you the latest edition of your club’s newsletter which is once again packed full of information about the most recent events and shows, and also contains some very useful first hand experiences of problems encountered by some of our members.

I do hope you will enjoy the read.

May I also remind you that the annual subs become due and payable before the end of this year (although we will of course accept payment on our first training day in 2010 - 3rd January).

We look forward to welcoming you this coming Sunday for our festive mulled wine and mince pie event (!), and on behalf of the committee may I take this opportunity to wish those of you whom we will not see there, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with your dogs.

Very best wishes
Rebecca

Training 20/12/2009

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Good morning everyone; are we all nearly ready for Christmas then???

My previous mail sent a few days ago advised you all of the festive mulled wine and mince pie treat that we have in store for you this coming Sunday.

Well, our generosity knows no bounds this year and to add to the merry atmosphere we will throw caution to the wind and give you all a free training session.  Thats right -  no subs this coming Sunday AND free mulled wine and minceys… what more could you ask for???

To allow for everyone to enjoy a drink (and the loss of light that we are increasingly affected by), this week’s training times will be from 2pm to 3pm -but please note that there will be NO second half.  The instructors would be drunk in charge of a dog. Only joking of course…. but a 3pm finish means that those who wish to stay for a drink can do so without it being too late when you leave.

We hope to see as many of you as possible with your dogs for what will be the last time until 3rd January 2010.

See you then!

Christmas Training

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Just a quick note to you all to remind you that there will be no training at the club on Sunday 27th December 2009.

Training will resume on Sunday 3rd January at the usual time.

We also hope that you will join us next Sunday (20th Dec) when your trusty Committee Members will be serving up Mince Pies and Mulled Wine as well as tea and coffee at break time.   Only 1 serving each though unless you’re walking home!!!!

On behalf of BAGSD Huddersfield Committee I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Position of Treasurer

Friday, December 11th, 2009

Good evening everyone

It is with some sadness that I must report that after 6 years of loyal service, our cheerful treasurer, Colin Summers, has announced his retirement from the role with effect from 31st December 2009.

I am sure that you will all wish to join the committee in thanking Colin for his outstanding work throughout the years, and to wish him well in the future with all the new opportunities that his ‘free’ time will now allow!

That aside, this does leave an important vacancy for the committee to fill in a relatively short space of time.  I am therefore sending this mail to all members to establish whether we have any talented invidivuals within our membership that maybe interested in being considered for the role.

Recently, many of the requirements for this job have been transferred to electronic spreadsheets, therefore the need for some PC skills and computer literacy should accompany some basic accounting skills.  The ability to communicate with our members is also crucial to this role so being comfortable with this apsect is important.

We would be very grateful if any interested parties could make themselves known to either myself or any of the committee members as soon as possbile, as meetings will be taking place in the next few weeks to further the appointment of a replacement Treasurer, during which potential applicants will be reviewed.  We will be happy to provide a more detailed overview of the requirements of the role to those expressing an interest.

Please remember that all committee and instructor positions are voluntary and without the continued support these people on a voluntary basis, your club could no longer exist.  If you wish to join this team of people to help keep the club going, we shall be very pleased to hear from you.

Kind regards
Rebecca
