Club President, Instructor and Honorary President of BAGSD
David has served the Huddersfield Branch for over 40 years in numerous capacities. He has been a Committee member and Chairman, Instructor teaching Obedience and Agility as well as handyman, grass cutter, tea brewer and Chief Steward at our shows. He was elected Honorary President of the branch in 2017 and we are honoured and grateful to David for his continued support and dedication even in the absence of his own dog. His commitment to the club is purely for the love of the breed and all that BAGSD stands for. Whatever you want to know about GSDs David will have an answer for! Outside of the club David is a keen golfer and also produces his own fruit and veg from his allotment.
Chairperson, Treasurer, Instructor and Show Secretary
Lynne joined the Huddersfield branch in 1999 after her move south from Scotland. She has had 5 GSDs over the years and has enjoyed various facets of training including Obedience, Breed showing, field trials and Agility. Her current dog Tiber is rarely at the club due to her other commitments. Lynne has been instructing since 2008 and a Committee member since 2006. She has a special interest in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme and is an Examiner for both Bronze, Silver and Gold levels as well as instructing at all levels. Away from dogs Lynne enjoys photography, wildlife and nature and breeds and shows hamsters under the Custard Hamstery prefix. She is a qualified Syrian Hamster judge. Lynne believes that every dog deserves to be trained to be a good member of society so that the can enjoy the best life possible.

Dawn is married to Dave and they have two children and three GSDs Thor, Zanna and Morse. Over the years they have owned many dogs ranging from an Afghan hound to Yorkshire terriers but bought their first GSD Gypsy in 2004 and joined Huddersfield Branch shortly afterwards. Dawn enjoys her role as secretary as well as Instructing at all levels. She is a qualified KCGCDS examiner at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels and also takes part in competitive obedience around the country having qualified her second GSD Zeus out of Beginner. She is now working with her pup Morse to continue forward in competition and enjoys spending a lot of time training her dogs. Away from the club Dawn is a Despatch manager for a local sports company and enjoys walking with the dogs and her family.
Dave joined the club in 2004 with Dawn and their first GSD. He has worked his dog Thor, now retired, up to Novice level at the club and attends weekly to help out in all aspects of organisation at the club. He can often be found enjoying talking to members and looking after pups and offering advice about the club to new members as well as maintaining our agility shed and equipment. Dave works as a Factory Supervisor so is inside all week therefore he enjoys weekends when he can get out walking with his 3 dogs Thor, Zanna and Morse in the country. Away from dogs Dave enjoys camping and cars and vans!
Website manager, Newsletter Editor and Instructor (Level 1)
Mandie joined BAGSD in 2009 and has always had dogs in her life and GSDs have been the main breed she has lived with and loved. She currently has just the one – Diesel. She joined when Diesel was just a fluffy bundle and has progressed over the years to a high level although the retrieve still eludes her! Mandie started to train as an instructor in 2015 and qualified as a Level 1 instructor in 2016 and now teaches in Puppies, Class 1, 2 and KC Bronze classes as well as being a KC Bronze examiner. She enjoys using her technological skills to manage the website and produces club newsletters. Outside of dogs Mandie enjoys motor biking and walking with her dogs.
Richard is married to Nikki and joined the committee in 2015. He has two GSDs Narla a rescue dog and Skye. Richard is our press officer and enjoys handling our public relations and promoting the club in vets and pet stores as well as advising the press about special events. He enjoys attending shows with the dogs and is also on the Bradley Mills Cricket and Bowling Club. He is a Huddersfield Town fan and also likes to enjoy time with family outside of the club.
Committee Member, Instructor level 1
Sally joined the committee in 2016 and also passed her Instructor Part 1 exam the same year. She has two dogs: Samba a GSD and Kali a young rescue dog who keep her on her toes. Samba is working at a high level in the club and has gained her silver award recently. Sally helps out on all aspects of the running of the club as well as instructing in puppies and Class 1. Outside of the club she is kept busy with voluntary work, family and she enjoys walking with her dogs and DIY.
Revana joined the club in 2013 when she moved to the Huddersfield area from North London, and joined the committee in 2018 and became a trainee instracutor in 2018. She has had 8 GSDs including her present dog Libby. All of them have been rescues. Libby was wary and nervous when Revana adopted her in 2016 – she was also 8 years old. But Revana believes strongly in the potential of all GSDs, and Libby has certainly proved that old(er) dogs CAN learn new tricks. Libby and Revana recently passed their Kennel Club Gold award and continue to train regularly at the club. Revana works as an acupuncturist and massage therapist. Outside of the club she is learning Chen Style Tai chi, enjoys gardening, cooking, spending time with friends and walking.
Pauline is married to Wil they have returned to owning GSDs after a gap of 25 years they have two dogs Sebi and Chester. Pauline has had a love of GSDs from a very young age as her parents bred and showed GSDs Pauline enjoys all aspects of dog training and is working through the good citizen awards with Sebi. Pauline helps out with the club as needed. Outside of the club Pauline works with children with autism. She enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and long walks with the dogs.
Wil is married to Pauline and they have two dogs Sebi and Chester. He joined the Committee in 2015 and assists with any aspects of the running of the club as required. He enjoys the agility side of working his dogs. Outside of dogs Wil works in dentistry and he enjoys walking with the family and the dogs and also scuba diving.
